Tangata Whenua

Trauma Recovery Aotearoa acknowledges Māori as the 1st people and guardians of the land of Aotearoa.

We work to support Māori through any issues they may be dealing with.

Our staff are trained in working with those who have experienced Trauma through Racism, Colonisation or other marginalisation processes.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Trauma Recovery Aotearoa acknowledges the Te Tiriti as the founding document of the nation of Aotearoa-NZ. We work to honour the treaty in our practice as a bi-cultural service.

Māori Traditional Practices

Our philosophy is that Therapy should meet the needs of our clients, not that our clients need to fit in to our service.

We encourage clients to receive support from Traditional Māori healers if that is appropriate for them.

We are always on the lookout for these practitioners to join our team.
