Vision and Mission


Vision: our people facilitate healing through meaningful intervention

Mission: we provide intervention support service across NZ for males and whānau affected by trauma

Values: we act with integrity, we demonstrate courage, we build resilience, we engender growth

At Men and Trauma we aim to provide flexible, accessible, client-centered clinical and peer support to male survivors of trauma and sexual abuse. We believe that by our courage and care, others can be brave.


Goal 1: Services

  1. Provide trauma-informed services for healing to individuals, families and groups with counselling well-being frameworks
  2. Engage in mental  health workforce transformation with inclusive qualifications and training for CPD
  3. Work collaboratively to address:
  • Sexual abuse
  • Suicidality
  • Family violence
  • Depression & Anxiety

Goal 2: Leadership
 
  1. Grow partnership networks with allied service providers
  2. Advocate for trauma informed services with funders
  3. Engage with disenfranchised and priority individuals & groups e.g. Pacifica/refugees/LGBTQIA+      

Goal 3: Sustainability
 
  1. Initiate, conduct and disseminate practice-based research
  2. Nurture relationships with strategic stakeholders   
  3. Embed continuous-improvement processes for absorption of new models and information that will enhance organisational learning and development

Goal 4: Security
 
  1.  Create a financially resilient organisation 
  2.  Improve organisational systems and structures to support growth and strategic development 
  3. Commercialise artefacts, events and practice-based products (publications, symposia, hui and CPD) to create a revenue stream
