Men and Trauma does not provide emergency response assistance (i.e. services that are required immediately after an event of abuse has occurred) .

In the event of requiring immediate specialist attention please contact the listed organisation/s below, according to what you need.

NZ Police
If you have just experienced sexual abuse or are in immediate physical danger - call 111.

​Diversity Liaison Officers are available to support you if you are part of our diverse sexuality and gender communities.  Information on local contacts are available here.


Te Haika (formerly CATT)
If you are considering self-harm, or experiencing a moderate to severe mental health crisis, you can call the Te Haika team 24/7


Oranga Tamariki
If you are worried about a child and want to make a referral or report a concern, contact Oranga Tamariki



Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation (HELP).
HELP  works with survivors of sexual abuse and their whānau – of any age, gender or ethnicity.

They provide a 24 hour crisis line.

​They also provide support and counselling services for anyone who has experienced rape or sexual abuse, or who is concerned about a friend or family member.


MEDSAC

A Wellington-Central based service that provides forensic examinations for sexual abuse survivors.


Victim Support.
​Victim Support is an independent incorporated society that provides a free 24 / 7 community response to help victims of serious crime and trauma.
